10 Years ago, I was just a little filly who had finished her Bachelor’s Degree with high hopes and dreams of Acing the Board Exam and become a famous Architect in North America. Too much of a dream come true but nope, none of it happened. Instead, I went to the Middle East to fulfill my hopes of working on a high paying Job as part of a Consulting Firm which happened to be my training ground to take my Board Exam. 2 years has passed, went back to Manila, got my license and took my chances of becoming a Professor. Well, yeah it was fun being a professor but being at that profession at the age of 23? I don’t think so. They don’t really take you seriously. Like who doesn’t especially to a filly that looked like their classmate.

1 school year had passed and I have to say, I was yearning for some action. Action meant I wanted to work in the Construction Industry. As what my mom tells me, construction is the key to more knowledge. And yes she was indeed right. At the age of 24, I have gotten myself to a Construction Firm that nevertheless rocked my world. It was a 360 degree turn on my own career since I started from Planning and Designing. The Action was not as much of a playground after all especially when you are a newbie. Estimate here, inspection there, Project Schedule Monitoring everywhere. Yes, it was too much to handle. But even if it was too much and handled by a newbie then, this I would have to say is the Dream come true I've ever wanted which surprisingly wasn't what I have had in mind 10 years back.

You see, working is an understatement. Passion isn't. When you dwell your work with passion, you'll just love it even if at times its a little stressful. Construction paved my way on becoming the craziest In-charge of all time perhaps. Juggling the life of coordination, site inspection, revision of drawings and the like was too much but made me realize that its what I am passionate looking back to it. Similar when I bond with a pen and a paper and my imagination when designing. Sometimes it actually takes the right time and momentum and frustration before you find the edge of what you truly design for the love for your clients satisfaction and comfort. Thus, Blending Design, Construction and Management though is more or less what I define myself right now. Conclusion: I'm a little bit of all of it.

So, I have decided to start Blogging to feature excitement on and off cam in the life of an Architect as a Designer, as a Builder and as a Manager. What is more exciting is I'll get to feature Architectural Materials I have worked with from local to imported ones. And as Millennial Baby, will be featuring Software and other Advanced Techniques I have used for over the span of a decade.

This may also pave ways on Clients and fellow designers who envisions collaboration and use of featured Materials in their own Projects and Future endeavors.

With my love for writing and photography both combined, this Blog comes from the heart that entails all that I could give not just as an Architect but as a plain 'Marie Francisco' who lives in a life of a Mom of 2 and a family woman wanting to see the World one step at a time in the goal of balancing life and work that would inspire everyone.
